All current University of Newcastle staff, conjoint and honorary appointments, and research students may use this application to request funds to pay the cost of Article Processing Charges (APC) for publishing in open access journals.
Applicants must be the first named or corresponding author on an accepted manuscript, and meet the
Eligibility Guidelines. If an application meets the eligibility guidelines and is supported, the Library will advise the applicant within five business days then liaise directly with the publisher to arrange payment of the APC.
The APC Fund is supported through RSP Stimulus Funding administered by the University Library, and is intended for the payment of article processing charges by authors who do not have access to other funds which may be used to cover the cost of open access journal publishing.
